We are a community of Traditional Discalced Carmelite Sisters seeking to live faithfully the spirit of the Primitive Rule of the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, according to the reform of Saints Teresa of Jesus and John of the Cross.
Our vocation is one of prayer, contemplation, penance, silence, and hidden sacrifice. Following the example of the first Carmelites and the saints of our Order, we seek, above all, to know, love, and serve God and to grow in intimate union with Him.
At the heart of our religious life is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, from which we draw the grace and strength to persevere in our vocation. The Divine Office, mental prayer, spiritual reading, silence, work, penance, and fraternal charity form the rhythm of each day, ordered toward a life of recollection and continual prayer.
Our life is intentionally hidden and separated from the world, not because we wish to withdraw from the needs of the Church and of souls, but because we desire to offer our entire lives for them. In the quiet of the cloister, we strive to become faithful intercessors before the throne of God, offering our prayers, sacrifices, and daily work for the sanctification of priests and religious, the conversion of sinners, the salvation of souls, and the propagation of the Holy Catholic Faith.
Under the maternal protection of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and in the footsteps of the great Carmelite saints, we seek to live our vocation with simplicity, fidelity, and love—trusting that a hidden life given entirely to God can bear abundant fruit for His Church and for the world.
